Who is Tabs the Cat? About three years ago I befriended a stray, flea-bitten tabby cat with a bad instance of worms. I could see he'd fallen on hard times, merely his profound noesis of high fashion and department store cosmetics led me to believe that he was more than meets the eye. We became fast friends, and now he's really my boss (and a successful kitty model). 🙂

1. How did your pet come by his/her name?

We'd started out calling him "F.T.," which was curt for Fussy Tabby, but that didn't stick. At some point, F.T. just became Tabs, and he's had the proper name ever since.

2. How old is your pet?

He's well-nigh v (going on xl).

3. Can you describe your pet's appearance?

Tabs is an 18-pound black and gray tabby with patches of orangish on his nose and tum. While he fancies himself coming from a long line of feline royalty, officially, his breed is American Short Pilus (but don't tell him).

4. How did you become your pet's personal assistant?

Well, when I met Tabs back in 2007, he was a scraggly, flea-bitten devious kitten who hung effectually the apartment complex I was living in. He kept his altitude at offset. I'd see him perched upwards on a hill next to our unit, or slinking around the parking garage, simply he'd never walk up and say hello.

Believe it or not, he was actually a skinny kitty dorsum and then, LOL! And so skinny that I was worried that he wasn't getting plenty to eat, so one day I bought a box of dry out nutrient and set up some out on a plate by the front door. When I'd hear a noise, I'd watch him through the peephole, sneaking upwards every few days for a meal. Then it was every other day, and then every day, until eventually, I estimate he just started to think of El Hub and me as his humans. I was more than happy to take on the job of being his assistant.

5. How would you draw your pet's personality?

I'll let you in on a hugger-mugger. Fifty-fifty though Tabs likes to front like he's a diva, he's really a really sweet boy — approachable, affectionate and loving. Wherever you are, that'southward where he wants to be, and he follows me from room to room. People who run into him say he's almost dog-like in some ways. He loves to go out for walks on his leash, runs to the door when El Hub gets abode from piece of work, and even plays fetch!

6. What'due south your pet's favorite pastime or toy?

His feather teaser toy. It'south basically merely a bunch of feathers at the terminate of a piece of string dangling from a plastic stick, but he stalks those feathers like they're attached to a wild turkey! Information technology's so much fun to watch.

7. What are your pet's favorite snacks or foods?

Fancy Feast in gravy, of form! Information technology doesn't really matter what flavor it is, every bit long as information technology's in gravy. He also loves sliced turkey (the kind for sandwiches). And fresh zinnia leaves.

8. When was the last time your pet got into really, really big trouble?

Although he was never convicted (there was a lack of bear witness), he's the prime suspect in concluding yr's Christmas tree incident.

9. What's ane of your favorite things about your pet?

Sometimes when I'chiliad writing at my desk, Tabs will spring on my lap, drape his upper body across my right arm (always my right arm) and take a nap. For the record, it'southward non easy to type with 18 pounds of true cat on your arm, simply he'due south but so blasted cute when he does it that I tin't say no.
